Mission

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) works with partners around the world to save lives, reduce poverty, and strengthen democratic governance. USAID provides development assistance through contracts, grants, and cooperative agreements, working with local implementing partners, and leveraging private sector industries around the world, helping partner countries and people progress beyond assistance.

Designated Services

Improving the partner experience for business and industry (i.e., the private sector)

Website

USAID is enhancing the private sector's partnering experience for global development. With nearly 4,000 partners in FY22, USAID is streamlining collaboration by centralizing online content, simplifying processes, and ensuring consistent engagement to align with USAID’s Policy Framework's priority of embracing new partnerships, particularly with businesses having long-term interests in our partner nations. Private investments, constituting 90% of financial flows to partner nations, are crucial for global development. To influence these investments effectively, USAID is committed to providing a more efficient and less burdensome partner experience, facilitating strategic collaborations in line with U.S. development and humanitarian objectives.

Simplifying the USAID partnership process

Website

Small organizations often face resource challenges in meeting complex funding applications, terms, and conditions. WorkwithUSAID.gov assists new and prospective partners in understanding how to navigate complex U.S. government processes and requirements for partnership, and unlock long-term benefits such as access to potential financial resources, improved reputation, and enhanced technical and management capacities. The platform offers a step-by-step checklist for new partners, a partner directory, a pre-engagement assessment, a library of curated resources, a news and insights blog, an events calendar, a sub-opportunities portal, and a frequently asked questions (FAQ) section. As the WorkwithUSAID platform continues to evolve with new features, barriers will be reduced for current and prospective partners to be better prepared to compete for USAID funding.
